‘Tuesday Night Football’ is for anyone and everyone over 18 years old who enjoys a good game of football. We meet every Tuesday at 7:45pm (for a prompt 8pm start) at the Academy Sport Leisure Centre, playing on their outdoor astro-turf pitches. Depending on numbers, we either split up into two separate games or play one large game across two pitches. Games finish at approximately 9pm with the evening then being wrapped up with a 5-10 minute talk on the Christian faith.
2nd & 4th Tuesday of every month, 7-9pm.

If you feel lonely and want some company, come along for a drink and chat, to help make a puzzle or play a game, with children’s toys for any little ones. There is a chance to talk to someone if something is bothering you, or you can just sit quietly by yourself. A friendly, relaxed place for anyone to come.
Our lively and active robed choir has about 30 members of all ages, led by our excellent Director of Music and Organist. The repertoire is diverse – from the seventeenth century to the present day, and from simple to moderately difficult.
The choir sings at the main Sunday services (September to July), often with an appropriate anthem, and sings a full choral evensong in most months.
The Play Reading and Drama Group meet once a month to read a wide mixture of plays in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Over the years they have performed Passion Plays, Pantomimes, Poetry and Prose, and entertained at Christmas Concerts, Harvest Suppers and other events.

A quiet shared space where it's ok to not be ok. Every Wednesday from 10.00am, - 12noon the Abbey cafe space by the Holy Brook becomes a community space for a variety of hobbies and activities. Anyone is welcome to share a hobby or share a skill or join a workshop or activity. You can come and relax and chat or enjoy the peace in our quiet area. The Well-being Cafe is free to all.

The light on the Hill Café offers a safe, shared space where you can find a warm welcome, peace and connection. It is a drop-in group for adults (18plus), those needing support with their emotional wellbeing and to help folk who may be feeling socially isolated. Light on the Hill Café is run in partnership with Renew Wellbeing
The Emmanuel Community Garden opened in 2022 with the help of Feely Fruity and Wokingham Council.

Laurie-Ann offers 1-2-1 mentoring sessions for young people aged 11-18. This is a chance for young people to be supported, encouraged and have someone to talk to. Laurie-Ann specialises in supporting young people who have been in mental health crisis.
The Gosbrook Garden Growers meet each Friday from March to late October, in the grounds of St John’s Church, Gosbrook Road from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.
The aim of the community garden is to involve local people and families in the growing of fruit and vegetables. The group is free and open to anyone as an informal drop in group. No one is expected to make a weekly commitment. We harvest when the produce is ripe and ready and share the fruits of our labour with those who are there on that day.
The adults' choir rehearses on Tuesday evenings 6 -6.45 pm. If you would like to sing, come along and say hello.
Springwater Church is the beneficiary of a garden, cultivated by Magdalene Hu, populated with various biblical plants that have an accompanying scripture verse which highlights their part in the Scriptural story.
The garden is free to all those that wish to use the space for contemplation, reflection or to just see what these scriptural plants look like.
Feel free to come and visit the garden.
Compassionate Loaf also provides bread making workshops for those who want to learn about artisan baking and the wider community in general.
Every Monday morning Compassionate Loaf facilitates a free workshop, available to all, that includes bread baking, conversation and support at Springwater church. Starting at 10.00 am Compassionate Loaf seeks to bring people together in peace. The baking facilities a time of learning, sharing life and connecting with people.
The book club meets in the lounge on the 2nd Monday of the month at 1.30pm to 3pm.
We discuss the previous month’s book and give out another. We have had a very diverse reading list from the classics to some top twenty paperback titles. We agreed at the start that we would not spend more than £5 on each book, most of them have been less than that and some we order free from the Library Book Club service.
Every Monday evening (excepting Bank Holidays and illness) a group of people meet at Kennet Valley in the activity hall to participate in an hour of Circuit training.
Circuit training is an easy way to keep fit – there are no choreographed routines so you don’t have to be co-ordinated, and as each exercise is repeated for a minute you can do as many as or few as your fitness level dictates.
The session starts at 8pm, the only cost is your energy and all ages and fitness levels are welcome.
Reading Association for the Blind have two weekly clubs that run on a Tuesday and Friday from 10:30am to 1:30pm in Walford Hall. These clubs offer an opportunity to come to the Hall to spend time and make friends with other people living with sight loss. Each week there are a range of activities to participate in, such as craft, board games and a quiz. We also have volunteers who can help with IT problems in IT corner, which is equipped with a screen reader, PC, iPad and a smart speaker. Members can purchase our home-made lunch or bring food from home.
Session cost: £2.50 (includes tea or coffee, biscuits, and all craft materials). Lunch cost: £3 (jacket potato or a filled roll). Transport available at £5 per session. Transport must be booked and paid for in advance, please call 0118 957 2960 to check availability and book.

The Tuesday morning craft group meets from 9.30 to 11am with refreshments.
It’s a social event where people can meet, chat, and get advice on knitting or crochet problems. But more than that it’s a place to make friends and have a laugh.
The circle is open to anyone and everyone. It is a community event and many of the visitors don’t attend services at St Barnabas. They heard about the group and just wanted to join its friendly atmosphere.

The Bereavement Café is drop-in for anyone who has been bereaved, either recently or some time ago, to meet together for an informal chat and mutual support. You are very welcome to drop in.

Living with Loss is a monthly group that provides the opportunity for anyone affected by any kind of loss to find support from others who understand from their own experience how overwhelming feelings of loss can be. You will receive a very warm welcome.

The aim of the Bereavement Support Group is to walk alongside bereaved people, by offering a friendly face at the funeral service, and by answering any practical questions you may have.
We invite you to a Communion Service to Remember the Departed on the first Saturday of every month at 10:00am, followed by refreshments and an opportunity to talk.
We are a relaxed, friendly, flexible three/four part choir, who sing on Sunday mornings at St Luke’s, as well as during our inspirational beautiful Christmas services.
We ask that the juniors are at least 7 years old, but other than that there is no audition to join, just an enjoyment of singing and the commitment that you attend as regularly as possible.
Children and Adults can join in with music theory and vocal coaching sessions to earn recognised Royal Schools of Church Music medals and also have the opportunity to sing solos or as small groups. We sing a wide variety of music, leading hymns and psalms and singing varied anthems. We are always keen to welcome new members.
Members and friends of Park meet on Tuesday evenings from 7:30pm until 10:00pm in the large hall to enjoy this sporting activity in a social setting.
Aldbrickham Clog and Step Dancers enjoy performing traditional dances from Britain to live music at local events and festivals, in the summer we dance at pubs with other local groups. We have also danced in Dusseldorf (Reading’s twin town) and in Belgium. We dance in shoes and clogs. We meet on Tuesdays in the Small Hall at Park URC from 8.15 – 10.15pm.

Dealing with Depression is a 6 week course that is designed to provide you with information, and a space to belong so you are empowered to make choices about how to move forward. We look at everything from what depression is, to ways of dealing with it, such as medication and talking therapies. We will also explore faith and depression; how faith impacts depression and vice versa. The course is delivered through podcasts with some weeks also having accompanying worksheets, and the hope is that everyone will be able to do the course with a small group of friends as there is time for sharing as well. This course is not the be all and end all for your recovery, it is just one tool that might help.
The Engage Wellbeing Programme provides a volunteer befriender to support isolated adults (25+) to help them sustain or improve their emotional and mental wellbeing. This currently consists of a regular telephone calls to chat, share experiences and provide emotional support. This will soon transition to face-to-face befriending and support to vulnerable people; assisting them to rebuild confidence to engage in the wider community.
Renew@Woodley Baptist Church is a place where all are welcome to come and find some peace, a place where it’s Ok not to be Ok. We are open every Friday morning from 10am-12noon.

Christianity Explored is an informal mid-week course which gives the opportunity to look closely at the claims of Jesus Christ through reading Mark’s gospel. The course runs over 7 sessions.
We welcome those of some faith, or none, or those who are unsure. The format is relaxed and informative and there is plenty of time to ask all of the questions you have. There’s always some food of some description and plenty of laughter and life-long friendships can be formed.
