About St John and St Stephen’s Church, Reading

St John & St Stephen' Church is an Anglican Church in the Newtown area of East Reading. We are an engaged, forward thinking, friendly and diverse group of people seeking to serve our local community, and we offer a particular welcome to those who feel wounded by life.

Our Sunday worship at 10:30 am is centred on the Holy Communion service, with good preaching, varied music, children' groups, and refreshments afterwards. Our small groups provide an opportunity to explore faith and life issues further.

We seek to integrate prayer and social action and many of us are involved in local social projects. We are also an Eco Church committed to tackling current issues of climate injustice.

We have a close relationship with St John' Church of England Primary School, which is next to the church building and shares the worship space.
