The Engage Wellbeing Programme provides a volunteer befriender to support isolated adults (25+) to help them sustain or improve their emotional and mental wellbeing. This currently consists of a regular telephone calls to chat, share experiences and provide emotional support. This will soon transition to face-to-face befriending and support to vulnerable people; assisting them to rebuild confidence to engage in the wider community.
Engage develops positive relationships and builds networks within communities. We do this by connecting a local volunteer with an isolated or lonely older person to forge a lasting befriending relationship and support the person to connect with opportunities for further social engagement.
