The work of Torch is primarily carried out by a wonderful team of volunteers who last year freely donated 7000+ hours of their time to the community. All this volunteering has to be managed and supported by a small team of part time staff. This essential leadership, management and support provided to the volunteers is funded by churches, trusts, individuals who are moved to support our work, along with the occasional one-off grant from local statutory agencies. Here are some examples of typical average costs to run Torch in 2024:
To onboard a new Volunteer £120

To buy a new laptop and peripherals for a coordinator £1,000
To provide a skip to take away garden waste/rubbish £165
To undertake a typical DIY/painting referral £40

In 2025 we plan to grow our staff team by introducing the new Neighbourhood Parish Nursing Service which means our running costs are of the order of £6250/month. Your one-off or regular support, with any of these costs will ensure we can continue to sustain and develop this valuable work.
